It all started at the beach.Well more specifically, it started at the University of Maryland. But that was before Chris and Nikki ever saw each other as more than friends. One night, it all changed. A group of friends went out to the beach and Chris and Nikki found themselves in each other’s company. They stayed up until the sun rose, talking and talking, finally seeing each other in a new light. And since then it’s been the two of them, and the beach has been their spot. All of their big moments go back to the beach, in fact. It’s their happy place.
So it only makes sense that Chris would bring Nikki back there, five years later, to propose. Nikki and their puppy, Ella, were sound asleep when Chris woke them to “see the sunrise.” They arrived just in time to see the sun come up, and Chris dropped to one knee, anxious to finally be engaged. And just like that, the beach became their happiest place all over again.
Of course, we had to be on the Eastern Shore for their engagement session! Chris and Nikki took turns pointing out the places that held their story as we walked around. They pointed out spots where they grew up going. Their favorite ice cream stop. The spot where “their” dock used to be, the one that held that fateful talk well into the night. And the spot where Chris quickly got on one knee, as Ella ran in the waves, and Nikki finally got to say yes to her man. There was such an easiness between the two of them. Laughing back and forth, hugging each other tight, walking hand in hand down the dock with little miss Ella following along. Marriage just makes sense because they are simply better together.
Hope you enjoy their Eastern Shore engagement session! Chris and Nikki, we can’t wait to see you say yes all over again next year!!
