I can still remember when Emily came home from her summer in Indiana and told me about this cute ginger boy she had met. They were just talking back and forth at that point. But she was enamored, because 1. he had red hair, 2. he liked to read. If I remember correctly, it was in that order :] On the other hand, Dennis knew he was interested and he was more than willing to be persistent. He waited a whole year before they ever even got to go on a date! He knew that Emily was serious by the way she pursued conversation and getting to know each other and she was so worth waiting for. Anyone who has been around these two knows that they’re meant to be! They’re so much better together than they are a part.
I’ve known Emily for a long time now. And I’ve never seen her so radiant as when she’s with Dennis. She feels 100% herself around him and it’s a really beautiful thing to get to see. Dennis makes her feel safe and confident and that is so much of what I would ask for for my dear friend! It also doesn’t hurt that Emily describes Dennis as an old man. That’s a high compliment in her eyes! A love of books and kicking back in an armchair? That’s the life :] Dennis is also totally hilarious and simultaneously makes Emily laugh and roll her eyes at the same time. It’s impossible not to laugh along with them and smile in their presence. I just love them both a lot.
They’ve been long distance their entire relationship. There has been a couple long summers spent together, but other than that, it’s facetime and long drives back and forth and counting down until their next reunion. They’re no stranger to persistence and pursuit and that makes the fact that they’ll be married next June even MORE sweet. And I’m sure they won’t miss those road trips from Virginia to Indiana too, too much :]
Dennis and Emily took David and I down to their favorite summer fishing spot to start their session!
Can it get any cuter?
Can we just all agree that Emily is crazy beautiful?
Here’s their spot! They brought along a box of keepsakes from their time together!
Spent the second half down at Bissett Park!
Love that golden light.
This set of images by the river is my favorite!
So much love!
