It was supposed to rain all day long. But instead, the sun peeked through the clouds and provided a warm June day. There was so much nervous energy when we arrived at Triple J Farms. Casey and her girls were quietly getting ready and all of the sudden the feeling of “I’m getting married today!” overtook her. But it disappeared as soon as her hair was finished and she was stepping into her dress. Casey was an absolute vision in her gown. There was a synchronized intake of breath as her bow was tied because it was clearly made for her. She slipped on her bright yellow shoes and the vision was complete. At the same time as all this, Max was laughing and getting ready with his guys, admitting he was nervous and anxious. It felt like the whole morning was just a countdown until the moment he’d see her at the end of the aisle. And then the rain started pouring, and it was as if it was the world’s way of building anticipation even more for that moment! Casey waited calmly, content with any outcome as long as she got to meet her sweet groom.
I’ve never seen two people look at each other the way that Max and Casey did during their vows. They were hanging on each others every word. Holding their hands up to their chests as they held tight to each other. Nodding as they promised to love Jesus first and love each other despite not being able to do it perfectly. Waiting, waiting, waiting for the moment that it would be official. And then they were husband and wife! The sun came back out during the ceremony and the joy was all over their faces! Max and Casey could not wipe the smiles off of their faces. And it was the same for their guests, there were whispers all throughout of how in love they both were.
The night absolutely flew by. Everyone feasted on tacos and chips and salsa from the Dinsmores’ favorite taco truck and the dance floor was full all night long. As Max and Casey ran through their sparkler tunnel, I just couldn’t believe this whole day had passed. It felt like one of those days that time didn’t exist. Every moment was perfectly joyful and absolutely beautiful. We were so thankful to be a part of it.
