I’ve never seen Rachael as calm as she was on her wedding day. She was completely at peace, just rolling with the flow of the day, smiling whenever anyone mentioned Jacob. That’s the thing about wedding days, they often just feel like really good days. All of Jacob and Rachael’s favorite people gathered to celebrate them at his grandparents’ home on the lake and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Their families had worked tirelessly to bring together a completely home made day. So when Rachael did her make up and got her hair done, it was on the porch overlooking the water where she’d relaxed time after time. When she stepped into her dress, it was with a view that she’d grown to love as she’d grown to love Jacob. And as he bustled around finishing last minute details, getting ready with his best friends, it was in the home that he’d accrued countless memories. And that made everything all the more sweet.
Rachael walked down the aisle towards her love and met him at the end of the dock where they promised forever. And the rest of the day was a flurry of happy memories and hugging family and friends. I’ve never been to a wedding quite like Jacob and Rachael’s! Everything was put together by family and everything was centered around the people who had come to celebrate. From the boat ride that guests took over to the ceremony to the way that the party went way into the night to ensure that as much time would be spent together as possible. Even their sweet puppies were in on the celebration! Jacob has a sweet smile that’s reserved just for Rachael and it came out several times throughout the day. And Rachael was as happy as I’ve ever seen her and was just perfectly content in the presence of her loved ones.
The new Owen’s wedding was super intimate and that made it all the more special that we were included. We loved seeing all the sweet nods to history and detail incorporated throughout and I’m so excited to share their day with you! Jacob and Rachael, I hope Savannah and those fluffy robes are treating you well :]
I don’t often shoot rings in their ring box…but when the ring design looks like this?! Yep, it’s necessary! So fun!
