All day long, everyone was all smiles. And excitement! Because that is the type of bride Beth is and the type of groom Cory is! They’ve been over the top, counting down, cannot wait until they’re married from the very beginning! The bridal suite was full of “woo!”s and screams and waiting, waiting, waiting until Beth could get her dress on. I’ve known her for almost a decade now and she has been waiting for this day with the sweetest heart! Beth incorporated some sweet pieces of history in her jewelry, so every piece she placed on had a new significance. Right down to the necklace she wore that he father had gifted her mother while they were dating. And Cory was just smiling from ear to ear because he loves his girl something big! The girls talked all morning long about how Cory was going to just lose it when he saw Beth in her dress :] And boy, were they right!
I don’t think anyone will forget Cory’s reaction when he saw Beth! He sang quietly along with Come Thou Fount, already tearing up after walking his mom down the aisle, and then the doors opened. Beth walked towards him and his legs gave out, he started to sob, and then eventually raised his hands above his head with a big, “Come here, baby!” gestured Beth towards him. Later he told us that it was the moment of his life that he’d felt most moved by the Holy Spirit. It was the most beautiful thing and there wasn’t a dry eye as the ceremony started. And then, they were married and they were proud of it! Throughout the evening there was a lot “that’s my husband!” and “that’s my wife!” Such genuine joy in the room! Their whole evening was planned around the fact that they wanted their guests to have SO much fun and the mission was definitely accomplished. They got to bring all their different groups of friends together to celebrate!
We left Cory and Beth’s wedding just SO thankful that we’d been included. We’ve loved Beth for a long time and seeing how Cory cherishes her is so wonderful. There was barely a moment that we weren’t laughing or smiling so hard our faces hurt because there was truly that much joy. Their relationship was knit together by God and they were placed in each other’s paths and they’ve just got the love of Jesus written all over them. As Cory’s best man put it, “How else would a country boy from Virginia get a girl like Beth from Richmond?” :]
So privileged to share their wedding day with you! (ps: this was the day after I tweaked my knee…but I didn’t let that slow me down! some of my favorite images ever in here!)
