I met Brandon when I was a sophomore in college at Radford. My husband and I were both super involved with Cru at the time and David was constantly trying to hang out with this guy named Brandon. Eventually, Brandon warmed up to us and we began to see him around a lot more. David and Brandon got even closer when David mentored Brandon during his final year at Radford, coincidentally also his first year dating Amy. Some of my fondest memories of Brandon involve him eating ridiculously large amounts of food, borrowing my blue prius, getting real serious about the Backstreet Boys and gushing over this girl named Amy.
I met Amy during the summer of 2010 when I went to visit my friends from school up at a mission trip in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. We didn’t interact much, but I do remember that she was super sweet and had a wonderful voice. After a life changing summer, Amy made her way back to Blacksburg where she was introduced to a boy and his motorcycle, Brandon. Introductions turned to dog sitting turned to long walks and finally it all turned into a beautiful relationship.
Brandon and Amy are two of my favorite people! They love the Lord with all their hearts and seek to bring glory to Him no matter what. It’s so refreshing to see a couple who is striving for something bigger than themselves and their own happiness. David and I were so blessed to be able to see how the Lord grew their relationship into engagement and a future full of each other. I’ve never seen a guy light up over their girlfriend the way that Brandon does. He is such a romantic and it is so sweet to see how he loves Amy. One of the reasons I really love Amy is because we have just been able to connect; neither of us planned or ever dreamed we’d get married so young, but it has been so cool to marvel at the beautiful story God created for us.
The Tweles’ were married on a beautiful August day at the Marriot Ranch in Front Royal. One of Amy’s great friends and past roommates Annamarie Akins and I had a blast shooting the wedding together, and you should definitely check out her blog for more stunning images! I hope you enjoy the story of their wedding day in pictures with some commentary along the way.
Brandon LOVES batman and superheroes, so naturally his gifts to his groomsmen were superhero tshirts that they were instructed to wear under their suits…more on that later.
On the right is my handsome husband :]
Brandon is one of the most attentively detailed and fashionable people that I know, can you tell?
so excited!
And Amy was just GORGEOUS!
Amy and her siblings have this awesome goofy relationship that was so fun to be around all day!
Also her bridesmaids were hilarious and one of a kind!
Instead of a first look, Brandon and Amy kept with the tradition of not seeing each other, but still wanted to be able to get some pictures before the ceremony.
Brandon was so incredibly patient! I can’t imagine how much self control it took not to turn around…especially when we couldn’t stop gushing over how beautiful his future wife looked.
Both wrote sweet notes to each other.
and we backed up a bit to give them some time to pray together
Brandon was seriously counting down seconds :]
Amy and her siblings are also all incredibly talented.
YAY!
and noooooow we know the purpose of the tshirts :]
lookin fly.
and then it was time for portraits!
so many beautiful details at their reception
see what i mean?? they’re just fun people!
of course they couldn’t go without a choreographed dance! (yes there were lifts!)
and we snuck out for some more evening portraits as the sun was setting
and then it was time to break it down on the dance floor. it really felt like everyone was dancing! Brandon and Amy’s family and friends know how to party.
No reception is complete without a men’s dancing contest.
Thank you so much Brandon and Amy for allowing me to be a part of your day! It was such a blessing and it has been a joy seeing you two flourish! Here’s to many memories ahead of us :]
