So by now you might’ve noticed that a lot of our friends are getting MARRIED! It’s such a sweet season of life right now to see friends all around me making decisions and commitments that will change their lives forever! We met Jonathan and Nikki through Cru at Radford. Honestly I can’t even remember the first time I met either of them, but in the past year and a half our paths have begun to cross so much more. Jonathan and David love talking about basketball and tattoos together, and Nikki was in the women’s group that I led last semester. Jonathan is currently the emcee of our Cru weekly meetings and Nikki leads the worship team. One of my favorite memories with them was being able to go on Cru’s Big Break spring break trip together last semester! We seriously love these two! They are so much fun to be around and are so real and authentic and are really seeking to glorify the Lord with their lives.
From what I’ve heard, their love story started at McDonald’s after Cru one night. They met each other for the first time there because Jonathan thought Nikki was cute (Jonathan pointed out the exact spot where they were standing a couple weeks ago). From there they began planning group hangouts together and eventually they began dating! Like I said, I don’t remember many of the details, but there isn’t much time that I remember Jonathan and Nikki not being together. By the way that they interact and work as a couple it is clear that they were made for each other! My favorite Jonathan and Nikki story is from the night of the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1; Nikki’s birthday was on the day that the movie came out, so Jonathan passed a message around the entire theatre so that they would all sing to her right at midnight!
Needless to say, hanging out with them all evening was wonderful. It was such a sweet opportunity to be able to capture their love and their goofiness during their engagement session. We started in Downtown Radford…
Jonathan told me that the model face was his favorite. Clearly, he’d been practicing!
Jonathan and Nikki bought bikes together this summer and wanted to incorporate them in their shoot :]
Also…Jonathan is really awesome and making Nikki laugh.
And then we headed out to Sinkland Farms, which is actually where David and I got married this summer :]
not pictured: little kids wandering through the corn maize while they were trying to get their model on.
seriously they are such troopers! there were weeds and bugs everywhere!
love this set!
LOVE
see what i mean…they have a great sense of humor!
yay!
hay fights are always necessary
but they always end well!
and we finished up by racing the light back to this awesome car in a scary abandoned junkyard
obsessed with nikki’s ring!
Nikki and Jonathan: thank you SO much for allowing David and I to spend the evening with you! It was so much fun and we can’t WAIT for your wedding :]
