So I had my wisdom removed yesterday, and when I mean wisdom, of course I mean my wisdom teeth. After many hours of loopy-ness due to laughing gas, a new addiction to Once Upon a Time, and lots of ice cream and sleep, I am finally starting to feel like I can function! So i’m sitting on the couch sending out christmas cards to our friends and family and getting some editing done and i figured it’d be the perfect day to share our little christmas tree with you all!
One of the many challenges of being a newly married couple is starting fresh with home decor. Much to my initial dismay, we got a fake tree from target this year. We knew we’d be traveling a ton and that if we were to get a tree we would have a dead stump and pine needle graveyard when we returned. At first I was very sad because I am such a creature of habit and I LOVE going to the tree farm every year and picking a tree to bring home. But fortunately, my husband knows me well and made a huge deal of us taking the tree out of the box and setting it up. Its the little things, isn’t it internet?
Luckily, my grandma passed along some ornaments last year for christmas, so our tree isn’t totally bare and although it is not pictured, I made a rough pinterest inspired tree topper. Our wedding photographers, Live View Studios, also sent us an ornament with our picture on it for christmas! I have now grown to love our cute skinny tree and it became habit while we were home to light our evergreen and sugar cookie candles and turn on the tree as soon as we got home. What does your tree look like?
My sassy grandma LOVES birdhouses, we we’ve got a lot of those ;]
I took a short layla break…she looks very studious with our bookcase behind her.
And then she attacked me.
My grandma and grandpa actually owned a general store for a very long time, so I thought this was a very cool pass down.
And there’s me!
Happy holidays friends!
