There is nothing about the scene pictured above that you can walk into and not be stunned. Thousands lined up chanting for freedom, for equality is sobering to say the least. Especially to see our generation, a generation that is so apathetic towards most issues, coming together for the equality of human life was stunning.
My experience at Move DC was nothing short of incredible. Move DC happened back in November and was a movement put on by Invisible Children. Invisible Children believes in the equal and inherent value of all human life. They believe that a worldview bound by borders is outdated and that stopping injustice anywhere is the responsibility of humanity everywhere. They exist specifically to bring a permanent end to LRA atrocities. I strongly encourage you to go to their website and their youtube channel to watch some of the short films they’ve put out about Joseph Kony and the Kony 2012 campaign.
If the entire day wasn’t awesome enough, the event ended with a global dance party.
Oh, and Harry Shum Jr was there :]
AND Sophia Bush.
I hope you all are having a snow day just as relaxing and restful as mine has been! I’ll be back Monday with some fun portraits of some of my freshmen girls.
