Brooke has a beautiful soul. She desires freedom for her life and the lives of those around her. She loves Jesus with all of her heart and is not afraid to say so. She truly strives to love others well. She is who she is in every single circumstance. Her boldness is inspiring and I am privileged to call her my friend.
I first met Brooke at a wedding. Never ever would I have thought that the chatty, and rambunctious girl that bounded up to me would be such a big part of my life. I’ve known her for a year and a half now and one of the things I love about her most is that she is encouraging. Genuinely and authentically. No one taught her to be this way. She just is. It’s one of the many wonderful things that make her Brooke. Along with her outrageous laugh. Seriously, its the best thing you’ve ever heard. You can’t help but laugh with her. Oh and did I mention her sassiness? The girl can keep up with you that’s for sure. She is truly a miraculous person and I’m so proud of the woman that she’s growing into in Christ.
Brooke’s birthday was about a month ago. She wanted to head home early on the EVE OF HER BIRTHDAY! Who does that??? So after my friend and I not so subtly convinced her to stay for the evening…we surprised her at midnight with the first clue to a scavenger hunt. Lucky me got to run around and document it all. (also known as…reasons I need to invest in a flash)
The first stop was on campus at Moffett Hall where she is currently a Resident Assistant. This also gave me a chance to be super stealth and hide to capture her and her discipler’s first stop. I hid practically under a spotlight…although they didn’t see me…private eye is not in my future.
Below is Brooke noticing me at the next stop, Muse Hall which meant I could retire from my life as a spy.
We headed upstairs to the roof of Muse, the prettiest view in Radford so Brooke could release a birthday wish.
And then we got locked out of the next stop…Cookout! So they were forced to wobble it out in the parking lot.
We then headed to Valley Bible Church where we all gathered around her to pray for her and thank God for the blessing that she is to us.
And the final stop was BTO’s, our local frozen yogurt stop. The mastermind behind this all, Jenn, got the shop to open up late so the rest of Brooke’s friends could wait inside!
Two of my faves.
Happy Birthday Brooke! I love you and 20 looks real good on you!
