I am one of the most indecisive people ever. This especially comes into play when making plans. I am part of this phenomenon called FOMO, fear of missing out. When people start to plan and I have to choose which place/activity I want to go to…I start to freak out a little. I often ask someone else’s opinion only to get even more confused when they give me their input! I’m that girl at the restaurant who always needs “one more minute” to order. Or even worse, the girl who narrows it down to two choices, asks the waiter what he recommends, and then proceeds to choose the opposite! (please tell me there’s more than one of us out there)
As you can imagine, this adds a considerable amount of stress in deciding on date nights. David and I are fortunate that we get to have these once a week, but we are always at a loss of what to do! Luckily, a couple months ago we had a date night and David suggested we do a craft together (best.husband.ever). So we decided to remedy our indecisiveness situation by running with the trend that’s been taking pinterest by storm. The date night jar.
All you need to make it is an old jar, paint, and popsicle sticks! Here’s the one that we had fun making. (and by we I mean David painted some of the popsicle sticks and I did the rest…)
Isn’t it cute?!
Okay, the tag is super important. They tell us what the budget and convenience of the date is. For example, we wouldn’t pull a red without preparing at 8pm on a Friday night.
And here are some of the ideas we have in there! We (I) found some examples online that I loved and made it super simple, but the funnest part was definitely coming up with a new spin on the date ideas. We especially got excited to write down red ideas so we could look forward to doing something really fun and special! (also, it totally looks like this is a kaitlyn jar and not a david AND kaitlyn jar….I promise there are some that aren’t as girly!)
Let me know if you try this idea! We haven’t actually gotten a chance to draw from it yet with all of the holiday traveling and the start of the semester, but I’m excited to see the (controlled) spontaneity that this jar has in store!
This is where our date jar is housed currently; our kitchen shelves that my sister just rearranged to look super cute and wintery.
One of my favorite shelf items…these lovebird salt and pepper shakers from Anthro. We got like 8 salt and pepper shakers for our wedding! But, to be fair, I had registered for all of them!
And of course, no kitchen would be complete without my favorite boy wizard.
