Whew I am having the MOST fun with creating lately. I’ve loved trying lots of different things – from families to maternity to babies – it has been a blast. Ohhhh, but weddings. I really think that’s where my soul really comes alive. There’s something about being there, being apart, of someone’s most favorite day that makes me want to sing/cry/scream at the same time. There’s something about the look of anticipation in their eyes and the way that they are both nervous and excited in the best possible way. Wedding days rarely feel like wedding days…even to the couples. I said it on my wedding day and I’ve heard many people say it since, “Today is just a really, really good day.” And there’s a kind of charm in that…wedding days are just really good days.
I am so incredibly thankful that I was there for Mark and Emily’s really good day 3 weeks ago now. Mark and Emily are very dear friends from college that we spent a lot of time with at Radford. Unknowingly I got to witness the first part of their relationship when I was an RA in Trinkle Hall. Mark was an English major with me and my husband and seemed to know absolutelyyyyyy everyone! Legitimately…we could never walk to the student center without Mark stopping to talk to 2/3 of the people that we passed. Seriously, we’re talking the six degrees of Mark Samudre here. Everyone knew him! So it was no surprise to me when he started coming into my dorm when I was on duty to study with one of my residents. Of course Mark knew a freshman who would help him study for his Bio class. Little did I know this was the start of something beautiful. By the end of the semester they were dating and now three years (!) later they are married!
So when Emily asked me to tape her ceremony it was a no brainer…but as usual, like the dreamer I am, I decided to go a bit further and take on more. I ended up videoing the entire day because I just couldn’t stop. I kept thinking back to our wedding day and how badly I wish I’d had moving, living proof of all that happened and I haddddd to keep filming. So without further adieu, and no experience in videography I might add…Mark and Emily’s wedding video.

It was a really emotional day. One of my favorite moments was talking to Mark outside before he had seen Emily. The rain was pouring and with tears in his eyes he was talking about how perfect everything was. I couldn’t help but be reminded of how faithful the Lord is. How sun and rain are just a reminder of His promises. And how faithful He was to bring those two together.
