This is going to win the super short blog post award. As of 9am this morning, I am officially off the grid until Monday evening! David and I, along with the rest of our Cru staff team, are headed off to Camp Powhatan for Cru’s annual Fall Retreat! We’ve been planning for months and it has finally arrived!
Seriously, Fall Retreat is my favorite weekend of the whole year, EVERY year. I am not a nature person, but getting out in the middle of nowhere with no cell reception does something to my heart. I get to be hyperfocused on the Lord and the people around me for a short period in time. My life changed for eternity at Fall Retreat my freshman year, and thinking of it and being there always pulls on my heartstrings and brings tears to my eyes. I wish there was some way to bottle up the camp and just carry it around with me. There’s something about it where I drive up those gravel road, unsure if my little prius will make it and I just feel complete peace. And I know that that something is God’s presence.
So, I’m welcoming that this weekend. I’m welcoming being off the grid and just soaking in some time with my community and my Savior. How lucky am I? I have two jobs that I consider the best job ever :]

ps: if you are someone who believes in the power of prayer then I’d really appreciate your prayers this weekend! pray that the students of Radford’s Cru would have open hearts and ears this weekend, and that they would understand the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
