Woohoo! I’m a blogging maniac this week :] It feels good for life to have calmed down a bit and to be able to blog consistently and be on top of things! This feels like one of those weeks that productivity is just coming easily and I’m embracing it. Maybe it’s the weather, who knows!
Like I mentioned a couple weeks ago, Cru had it’s annual Fall Retreat a week and a half ago (it feels like so much longer!). This is always my favorite weekend of the year as a student and now as staff for Cru. Every year I’ve been at Radford I’ve rejoiced in being out at Camp Powhatan, freezing to death, and having the time of my life with my community. Being out in the woods, away from technology, social media, and real life, just gives you perspective. We spend the weekend intentionally seeking after God, enjoying Him, and investing in each other. It is so worthwhile and The Lord always moves in peoples hearts. So needless to say…I love it. I look forward to it. And every year when it’s over I have a little bit of post fall retreat depression and go into coma mode for a couple days from exhaustion!
So today, I’m going to intro and recap my favorite weekend of the year, and introduce you to the students and staff that I spend so much of my life with! I am so thankful that I get to have this crazy life where I get to do all of things that I love and am passionate about!
Registration is one of my favorite parts of the weekend. I love sitting at the table as students drive up, completely overwhelmed, and screaming to welcome them to Fall Retreat! It’s really cool to see their excitement as they make it up the crazy gravel roads. Also a plus…my friend Krysta brought her megaphone so we could be extra loud and ridiculous.
We have sessions every morning and night and our emcees totally rocked it out this year!
$5 dollar prom! We set up a backdrop for photos and there was a line formed within seconds. So we all know where my night was spent :]
Oh the wobble. Not just for weddings anymore!
Meet Megan and Alex. Two of the girls I meet with on a weekly basis. They are such fun friends and bring so much joy to my life! (ps: do you like my outfit?)
Another one of my favorite parts of the weekend! We give the students time in the morning to go out all over the camp and read their Bibles and spend time enjoying Jesus.
We had the most awesome team of cooks! Most of them were Radford Cru alum!
Love this one! It poured on Saturday so students were either embracing it and running in the rain or running for cover!
Our director Jake’s wife and kids stopped by. You may recognize them from their family session here.
Saturday night is the absolute best!
On the right, two of my favs, Haley and Megan. Meeting with them on Tuesdays is always a bright spot in my week!
Absolutely LOVE this girl!
Freshmen Class!
Sophomore Class! There’s so many of them!
Juniors!
Our wonderful emcees!
Lovely Seniors.
Haha. Love my coworkers.
And my staff team. They are the best!
We couldn’t go without a jumping picture….Jake is on the left…aka our director. Is this some kind of metaphor?
