Engagements

Whew…these two. Nathan and Joanna have quite the love story. From high school sweethearts to a surprise proposal in California they have an amazing history together. Through ups and downs they have always chosen to come back to each other. And years later, their love is still one for the the story books and it was an absolute privilege to capture that for them.

I know Joanna and Nathan through my best friend who knew them at Virginia Tech. They are two of the most fun people I’ve ever met. They are always bright and full of laughter and always make you feel like they care about you. That is super rare now, so spending two hours with them running around Blacksburg was a delight. We laughed a TON and literally sprinted around chasing the beautiful light. Joanna was quick to tell me she wasn’t a “hay bale” kind of girl and oh my goshhhh, I had no idea how welcome that change was for my soul. Instead of frolicking in the tall grass and fields of the NRV we ran through parking garages and grungy city spaces in Blacksburg. We shot in front of the red church door I’ve been passing and staring at for yearssss. The best part was that they were just themselves the entire time. They had fun together and were so wrapped up in this stage of life that it was almost like I wasn’ there!

Nathan and Joanna, spending the evening with you two brought me life! You guys are wonderful and I can’t wait to see your story continue in marriage :]
