Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, this post is late :] Sorry about that readers! I just finished all of my thanksgiving galavanting about an hour ago and am finally home! It’s a little bit sad to be back, especially after spending such quality time with friends and family all week. But it was nice to drive into Radford this afternoon, driving back to the area after thanksgiving is always my favorite drive of the year. The air is nice and chilly, but not quite freezing yet and it’s just exciting to know there’s only a couple weeks left before christmas!
Can you even believe that? Christmas is right around the corner and we can now all listen to christmas music guilt free without violating the before thanksgiving rule :] I cannot wait to tell you all about my Thanksgiving week! It has been a wonderful, special type of chaos. All good, of course! But, I’ll hold that story and those images for another time! I am feeling a little crazy because we’ve been traveling for so long. We even stopped in Harrisonburg last night and stayed with my sister (shoutout to her roomies who let my husband and i and our two puppies stay there) so that we could be up bright and early for an anniversary session with a sweet couple who also works for CRU!
Alright…and now for some thanksgivingy/black friday-y depth of feels!
- Things my dad said on Thanksgiving…”I don’t know why, but people love me.” “Are we taking a selfie?” Which yes, we took a lot of. But how embarrassing that my dad knows what a selfie is and even requests that we hold the iPhone high up to get a good angle. Also at some point he just said “Twerkin!” I’m not even joking. We also got a video of him dancing to Miley’s “Wrecking Ball” ….maybe I’ll show that off eventually too :]
- Black Friday either robbed us, or we robbed it. I’m still trying to figure it out, but my bags are too full of good deals to really care which.
- Speaking of Black Friday…My dad went with us to the mall from 9pm to 1am and was the most patient person alive! After he picked his christmas present (aka the first thing he saw in the store) he followed us around sitting outside stores and sitting under the forever 21 mannequins until we were ready to go. I hate to say this, but my dad is cool.
- My stepdad is really into Paleo right now, which is a diet where you basically eat the way cavemen did. So we put this to the ultimate holiday test. Paleo fudge vs my grandma’s fudge….Grandma’s won, but surprisingly Paleo was a close second!
- My cousin Joey and I had a contest to see who’s Instagram got the most likes…he won. He’s also thirteen. Unfortunate.
Loved spending the early morning with these two! Right after I took this I exclaimed, “Dangggg, you guys look cool!”
