Oh friends. I cannot describe how excited I am to finally be bringing you this sweet proposal. It was such a dream to be apart of and such a perfect day. But first, a story… So when I was home for thanksgiving, I was trying to schedule a time to hang out with my friend Meghan and she reassured me that she would be back in Radford soon, so not to fret. Meghan told me not to worry because her college roommate was getting engaged and she would be back for that. To which I responded…JONATHAN IS GETTING ENGAGED?! Little did Meghan know, that her roomie’s soon to be fiance was actually a good friend from college! So we got to scheming and talking and I knew I had to be there. After the craziest day ever and much frantic planning and the borrowing of a monster lens (thanks Austin Hodges!), it was Thursday which meant it was time to meet Jonathan at the tracks where he and his Lily had their first date.
Ahhh little did I know what fearless Jonathan had in store. Not only did he have a clever scavenger hunt planned for Lily, but he was determined to propose in the middle of the railroad tracks over the New River on a 20 degree afternoon in Radford! When I asked him what we were going to do if a train came he just shrugged. In my mind I was freaking out, but he was just calm and determined that he would be getting engaged that day, and nothing was going to throw that off. Meanwhile, as we were finding our hiding places (under the TRACKS!) Lily was taking her last final and getting handed her first clue by her professor! While Lily was running all over the New River Valley, friends in tow, Jonathan was yelling every 20 minutes or so that he was getting MARRIED! And finally, we got in place and waited with bated breath as Lily climbed up to the tracks to search for her clue, and instead was met with a question that she could only answer YES to.
Ahhhhh. And this is why someone should be there to capture your proposal and take portraits after! Pure unbridled bliss :]
Ps: now you all know that I would LOVE to capture your proposal! as the season of engagements is upon us, i just wanted to throw it out there :]
