Oh my goshhhhh. Christmas is upon us! David and I have been celebrating Christmas for about a week now, but it still super exciting that Christmas Eve is tomorrow. I really love that there’s this specific time that we get to celebrate life, family, and most importantly Jesus.
David and I have a ton of family all over Virginia so we had our Christmas and Eve last Monday evening. We wrapped presents in a fort in our living room (so the other wouldn’t see their presents) and watched Elf and drank hot chocolate. Perfect evening. Then we woke up the next morning, made breakfast and opened gifts! We read all day and hung out and finished the evening at the Japanese steakhouse and by seeing Frozen. I love that we are starting to create our own traditions in our new little family. Kabuki was DELICIOUS and Frozen was spectacular. We actually finished Christmas by listening to the Frozen soundtrack four times in a row…ask David, I’m not kidding. The rest of the week was spent down in Norfolk with David’s family getting to celebrate Christmas with them! And now we’re in Northern VA for the rest of the holidays celebrating here!
As we packed up last week, we realized we’d be gone for THREE weeks from our home. I just kept shaking my head and thinking that this is not how normal people live. But alas, we are not normal and I’m secretly glad for all of the long car trips in our overstuffed Prius. And now for a holiday/traveling depth of feels…
And I don’t have any previews but on the left is us on our Christmas Eve/anniversary, and then the next day on Christmas.
And in other news, Neville got a bowtie.
