Hello, hello? Is anybody there?
Eek! I can’t believe it has been so long! The last two weeks have been so FULL! Full to the brim. So full that I couldn’t imagine sitting down to write a blog post. It would’ve cheapened the experience I was having. The last few weeks have been insanity. Sitting down to write felt like it would steal from the joy that I was experiencing in resting, praying, and having deep community. I hated to leave you all hanging for so long, but I would’ve hated more lessening the experience of spending time totally focused on Jesus. But here I am :] I’m back and ready to blog again. Fully refreshed and fully exhausted. I’ll be sure to post soon some updates on the WHY of this blog break. But today, I’m just gonna say sorry for leaving for awhile, and I’m glad to be back.
So readers, as you may know via the crazy world of social media. I turned 24 on Monday :] Fresh out of an incredible week with friends and with Radford Cru. We actually had the day off because we’d been working through our spring break retreat for the last 5 days! What luck! Day off on my birthday! I love birthdays and basically any reason to celebrate. So normally I try to invite all my friends to celebrate with me so I can feel extra awesome (just being honest :]) But 24 felt different as of Sunday. I ended up spending some time instead with a small group instead and eating Japanese and playing cards. Relaxed laughter and fun was just what my soul needed.
I woke up Monday morning to a cinnamon roll with a candle in it and got to blow out my candle! Apparently I was a little tired so I blew it out before David could even sing :/ Little did I know, David had planning a whole day of surprises! (Sidenote: On the way back from the beach last week with friends, we were all asking each other random questions and one of them was to describe our perfect day.) So David told me that for my birthday, we’d try to do my perfect day! After I got ready, my friend Krysta showed up and took us to get our nails done on David. Then Chipotle for lunch of course, and David took me for shopping sprees at Target and Barnes and Noble. Perfection. We also got to share apps at Outback Steakhouse and eat ice cream while watching the new Veronica Mars movie. I even got to extend my birthday by getting a massage the next day and getting surprise presents from my small group girls that evening!
Ugh perfect birthday. How did I get this life?
My friends are weird and so is my husband. But let’s be real…I’m the one wearing PJ pants with my dress…

I’m also lucky enough to share a birthday with three of my small sophomore small group girls! Yay for March babies.
Readers, I’ll be back real soon. Promise :]
