This post is so so long overdue. But it kind of made it fun to look at a few images from our beach trip weeks later. For the most part, being an adult is kinda lame, but the ability to randomly pick up and go to the beach to help redo a beach house is totally a perk. I like that we’re at the age where we all still want to cram into a van and use air mattresses, and not one that we’re all fancy with hotels and glamourous vacays and blahblah. Now that would be awesome, but hey that’s not in the cards right now. We were all perfectly happy with our giant borrowed almost RV van and cramming into a small space together. That’s what your twenties are for right?
Now let me get to the why of this trip. My friend Krysta is super awesome and super fancy and creative. She has this ability to just make things look good. So she had an opportunity to help do some interior design stuff in a beach house through someone at our church, mostly staging and things like that and it turned into a crazy adventure that she invited us along and into. Whew. Friends, it was exhausting. We worked so so hard. But the awesome thing was, we laughed the entire time. Seriously, so many laughs, so many inside jokes, and just really good time bonding and making memories. PLUS there were 6 people so it was the perfect amount for card games and board games which is CRUCIAL. You think I’m kidding but oh am I ever serious.
We got to stay at the house we were working on with a gorgeous view of the water, and there was like a 3 minute walk to the beach. We didn’t really get to spend time there, but the small amount of time that we did was glorious. Now I didn’t have my camera most of the time, but it was fun to bring it to the water for a bit. Enjoy the chronicles of our frantic break on the beach.
Meet Eliz. My best friend and best instigator. She’s always getting people to do crazy things and starting crazy scenarios. She definitely made everything 200x more fun.
And Krysta. The brains of everything!
Ben runs with pure joy in his heart :]
Also, we dared Austin and Ben to run into the ocean…in the beginning of March aka WINTER. They listened.
Eliz loves instagram and insists that Facebook is on it’s way out. So of course, here she is trying to capture the seagulls perfectly and then her final product and carefully crafted hashtag.
We tried to help her out by running after the birds.
Here’s some of the fun details of staging :] Krysta did so great!
Journeys in iPhonetography. My two BFFs. Number 1: Eliz. Number 2: David watching calmly as I run around the beach like a maniac.
