Spring often feels like it is full of near perfect days. I guess coming out of the nasty winter just makes a cool breeze and beautiful sun easier to appreciate, but seriously, spring breeds lovely days. And yesterday was nothing short of that. I really love holidays. Any type at all. Having a reason to celebrate makes me excited! I like establishing traditions and relishing in just being together. So of course, I love Easter. One of the better holidays in my opinion because it celebrates something SO worth celebrating, Jesus!
So happy Easter friends! I spent the day with my little fam, celebrating the Risen King at Valley Bible Church in Radford and then lazing around eating guacamole, watching movies, taking a couple pictures, and enjoying that near perfect weather. Aka, perfect day. I hope this thankful attitude continues no matter the circumstances. This weekend was also the beginning of wedding season REALLY starting for me. I’m interning with the fabulous Abby Grace Photography this summer and Saturday was my first wedding with her for the year. So fun, and so, so sore now :]
Feels:
- Recipe for fun: a couple who dances to T-Pain’s “Buy You A Drank” for their first dance. What puts it over the edge? The bride’s dad pulling his wife out on the dance floor to join. Love it.
- And YES I did have to google who sings that song. Shows you all just how “hip” I am.
- Making Shepard’s Pie is not for the faint of heart. It takes a full on hour and half to whip it all up, and that’s with the help of my stellar husband. Whew. Good thing it was delicious.
- Somehow this ridiculous tradition got started about 4 Easters ago that after Sunday service on Easter, some people head over to the “wall” aka the brick alley way down the street and take pictures. This Sunday I realized that David and I might have one too many pictures with the same background. At least we’re consistent!
- Yes I love learning from my friend Abby at weddings…BUT my favorite part may just be listening close for how many times she’ll quote The Princess Bride, Mean Girls, and spontaneously burst into song. Abby, you make long days super fun.
- Easiest way to capture the attention of the children in the church nursery? Glad you asked! Play “Let it Go” loud and watch in amazement as they all freeze and gravitate towards the music in some type of trance.
Photo of us at the aforementioned wall. My sister was getting her photog on :]
