Roadtrip season has officially begun, friends. Summer for David and I means traveling most weekends, many fabulous weddings, and lots of milage on the Prius. Aka the Sassapri. Not sure I can explain that one, and I’m pretty sure I’m the only one who uses that nickname for our car…but there you have it.
I heart spending time in the car because it means 1. David is driving, because he is a super husband and knows how much I hate driving, 2. long talks and long silences, 3. reading and rereading novels, and of course 4. rediscovering old music and discovering new music. So call me crazy, but I don’t mind packing up Sassapri every week or so, jamming the puppies in the car, and heading off on an adventure. This weekend the adventure comprised of going back to Norfolk, David’s home, and celebrating the soon-to-be arrival of his (and mine :]) close friend’s baby. I love celebrations and I love themes and I’m thankful that at this time in our lives we can spend ten hours in the car just to go to a baby shower :]
So feels time…
- On the road you get to see a lot of things…one of them being over-enthused fellow travelers. We drove next a middle aged woman singing her little heart out to “Hey Ho” by the Lumineers yesterday and it MADE my day. I smiled and creepily watch her for as long as possible…I may or may have asked David to slow down so we could keep her pace.
- Tea Party Baby Shower – SO cute and classy. What a great idea for a theme! I’ve never been to a tea party before, so after the initial panic of needing to find a proper hat, it was a blast.
- Sincere question: When are you supposed to start packing when you have a home and are moving? Seriously, this has never happened to me before and moving day is in a month and a half!
- I have a love hate relationship with Jillian Michaels. She screams at me via her youtube video workouts and I scream back. Am I thankful for having a good exercise routine without leaving my house? Yes. Am I thankful for her not breaking a sweat and yelling at me over the internet? No.
- I saw a beautiful and charming movie this week called “About Time.” Check it out, it was just lovely.
Something a little different coming to the blog this week :]
