That’s right. Summer bucket list is back! Last summer David and I went on a quest to keep our lives a little more exciting and make the most of our time. And hey! We did pretty well. It was nice to know that the blog was waiting for updates and it was a good bit of accountability to get off the couch and consume something other than pizza and Netflix. (I mean we still enjoy Netflix and pizza a lot though)
Last year we accomplished 5 out of our 7 goals…which is great for us! This year we’re getting a bit more ambitious :]
So here it is! The second annual summer bucket list!
- Wine Tasting…there are some freaking BEAUTIFUL vineyards out here and most of them I’ve only been to for weddings. Neither of us are super into alcohol, but hey, who would want to pass up a chance to visit Chateau Morrisette? You can bring your dog! It is the ultimate win.
- Go to the beach…we did it! And it’s coming to the blog next week! I looooove the beach.
- Berry picking…I’ll just repeat what I said last year because this was one of our unaccomplished goals. “Do I like berries? Not particularly. Does David like anything you can call food? Absolutely. Aesthetically this one is right up my alley, but David will for sure be the approved berry tester.” Yep, all still true.
- Baseball game…we’ve got a local team that plays so so close to us! A night of all american fun? Why not!
- Bake/mix/cook something new every week…starting next week! Okay this is rather ambitious for us since we are out of town so often, but since we got married we’re really trying to get the hang of cooking efficiently and creatively. Right now…we’re cooking…barely. So this is a challenge to get our week a little more exciting…bake a new recipe, cook something creative for dinner, and start making margaritas :] Can you tell that was my real motivation? (our new house has a swing and to me, nothing sounds better than a fruity drink while swinging on the porch)
- Long exposure sparkler pictures…okay this is another repeat. But seriously, how have we not experimented with this yet?!
- Reclaim a piece of old furniture…because we’re moving and ohemgee it’s so soon and I want our new house to feel like home!
- Build a bookcase…we currently have a genius idea to turn a closet in our new house into a bookshelf…because books are awesome. I’ll keep you updated on how this goes…we’ve never built anything in our lives.
- Visit a movie theatre like the Alamo. This is on here for several reasons…1. I’ve never been to a classy movie theatre with waiters. 2. we love the movies. 3. we have recently been appalled at our local theatre’s patrons’ behavior. I’m not normally a ranter…but why would you bring 5 children under ten to a PG13 movie?
- Bonfire at the new house…oh heck yes.
- Read Changes that Heal…this might be the most important on the list. This book by Dr. Henry Cloud absolutely flipped my life upside down when I read it in college, somehow David has never read the whole thing. I can’t wait to dive into this together and get to know each other better. I could not recommend a book greater than this one!
- Shoot 6 weddings. That’s right. TWO DOWN, four to go! In the span of two months we get to shoot 6 weddings! So exciting. This is definitely the most jam packed my summer has been, but it’s been a blessing to love on my clients and I can’t wait to be apart of their most favorite day.
Whew. So that was a lot. What do you think? Can we handle it? How’s your bucket list going?
