I love the beach. Always have, always will. My family has been going to the beach every year since I was born practically with the same group of families. PB&J’s and a beach chair deep in the sand surrounded by good people was always something to look forward to. But, college started and schedules got busier and we stopped going to the beach when I turned 18.
SO my heart missed the beach. And David and I hadn’t been on a trip just on our own that didn’t involve work or agendas since our honeymoon. So it was time to head to Myrtle, nearby where I spent a week every summer growing up. And it was marvelous. We sat on the beach and read for hours, got sunburned to death, and survived on PB&J. It was awesome.
So for the first installment of the summer bucket list…here we are! Our 2nd anniversary trip to Myrtle Beach. And as usual for vacay, I tried not to bring out my camera too much, so we switched between iPhonetography and the real deal.
Okay so we went to Medieval Times after we got an insanely good deal. It’s basically a jousting tournament and dinner theatre where you sit in an arena, eat with your hands (no utensils in the middle ages) and indulge your husband’s childhood love of knights.
And this is where we switch to a real camera :]
Notice the juxtaposition of the little boy and my fully grown husband.
Dang we were cheering so hard for the Blue Knight! This also was a chance to Boo people and have it be acceptable.
And back to the lovely iPhone.
Hole in Ones for both of us and marg at Margaritaville!
And back to my camera for our journey to Ocean Isle Beach. We stopped through here on the way home just so I could reminisce childhood summers spent here. It was so wonderful!
Okay and this part I MUST explain. Our dear friend Krysta is on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic right now and their group has been chronicling their journey through selfies…one person stand close to the camera and only their eyes are in the picture, and everyone else gathers in the background. We thought it was hilarious and awesome so we decided to send Krysta a couple of our own every day :]
Don’t ask about the cat mask…just don’t.
