Just when you thought I was done being weepy and sentimental about moving…here we are again.
Happy Thursday friends! Before I get all sappy, let me say, we love our new house! It is not super productive or efficient settling in when we’re gone every weekend and working all day, but we live here! Now that we’re unpacking more and more boxes and hanging things on the walls it is feeling a lot more like a home. I’m excited to be able to host more easily, cook more often, and play lots of cards since we’ll have room for a table!
Now to the sap: Our last night in the house was one week ago! We were in the chaos of moving every night until midnight and were just so ready to be done. When the last trip to the new house finally took place it was past 10PM. So what did we do? Picked up Little Caesar’s pizza and sat on the floor of our now old little house. Without meaning to, we sent it off in the perfect way. We spent a lot of nights too tired or too busy to cook and our not so healthy go to for a relaxing night was Little Caesar’s and Netflix. It felt really nice to sit on the floor of the living room and finish off that way.
After our best attempts to shampoo the carpet, we took all of the hangings off the living room wall and the house wasn’t really ours anymore. I cried, of course, because I’m a crazy person. But I’m thankful for our little house. And thankful that my husband tells me it is okay to be sad and is currently going on a rescue mission for my ugly purple butterfly house key that now has become something I miss terribly.
Here’s to new beginnings and little houses! (and iphone pictures of course)
The picture on the left is from our last date before we got married. Three days before our wedding and I had just moved into the house, so David came to pick me up for our last date. The right picture is our last moving day. (also so funny that different outdoor lights are burnt out, common occurrence)
Weird things about the new house….our stairs are so small and steep and hobbit like that we had to bring our tiny bed through the window! And Neville is deathly afraid of the basement stairs.
Best things go last. We saved the wall for last!
