Dear friends, I am blogging from our cozy couch today because exhaustion has finally caught up with me! Being a wedding photographer is no joke. Every week is full of the highs and excitement of a wedding day and then finally a little like you got hit by a train the next day. But it is all worth it :] 6 summer weddings down and 2 to go!
Something you should know: I had a very nostalgic week. Even now, I’m laying on our hand me down furniture from my parents’ old place about to fall dead asleep like I used to do after getting home from school. Nostalgia definitely encourages naps. I spent this week tied down to my computer, editing through weddings and marveling at the loveliness of my sweet couples. I alternated between that and watching Doctor Who and then traveled up to Northern Virginia to spend time with friends and second shoot for Abby Grace Photography. Which as always, such a blast.
Now for some updates in bullet points and feels points:
- A good road trip sometimes involves absolutely no music at all. What a feat to drive four hours, chatting about the intricacies of life with a good friend, and to have so many thoughts and questions that there was no room for music to pass the time. Talk about refreshing.
- Friday night I traveled back in time to 2007…I spent my evening alone in Barnes and Noble devouring a book that wasn’t mine (yet), falling in love with said book, buying it, and then feverishly reading until I had finished it at 1:30 AM. And then wanting to cry my eyes out that it was over. Oh hello 16 year old Kaitlyn, nice to see ya. (btw….check out “eleanor & park” by rainbow rowell.)
- When people tell me that they literally cannot stop watching/reading/doing something….I always wonder why they aren’t doing/watching/reading whatever that is right that second. I use the word literally, literally, so when I say I can’t stop, I mean I’m staying up until 7AM finishing the Hunger Games because I have no self control. (also see above)
- I’m addicted to Popeye’s Chicken. And I’m not even the slightest bit embarrassed about it.
- Also for all you fellow Barnes dwellers…apparently the Current Events/WWII aisle is not the best place to sit on the floor and read. I was constantly scooting around and readjusting and trying to avoid eye contact with WWII buffs.
And this is the last preview of Matt & Becca’s wonderful wedding day before it hits the blog! Keep a lookout :]
