This may just be the craziest week of my life. Every year since I started college, this week is the most insane. Because our annual Fall Retreat is this weekend! EEK! I am so beyond excited! It is not only my favorite time for ministry every year, but quite plainly, my favorite weekend of my life every year. We get to go out to a camp in the middle of nowhere and live in community with no distractions. It’s a weekend that changes lives forever and shapes some student’s college experience. And I’m SHOOTING A WEDDING during it.

So legitimately, two things that I love, all wrapped up in the same weekend. I can’t say I’ve ever left a wedding reception and headed anywhere but straight to my own bed to sleep afterwards…but there is no way I’d miss that Saturday night bonfire for the world. So as I’m frantically gathering a billion and one things for this weekend, think of me! I’m sure to have much to report next Monday.

Now for some feels:

• We had the privilege of GREAT friends staying at our house this weekend and it was so refreshing. We spent time eating together, walking around Blacksburg together, and of course, staying up til 1AM together on a work night. Can’t say I love the exhaustion I’m feeling today, but I don’t regret it for a second.
• I seem to have selective memory when it comes to beautiful locations. I took Will and Courtney on a trek to secluded hilltop with a view of the mountains yesterday evening and totally forgot the hike it took to get there. Thankfully, Courtney was a trooper in her heels and her sweet fiance kept her steady the whole way.
• Nothing makes you feel awkward like taking a bite of your meal and then hearing, “Alright, so and so is going to pray so we can all start eating.” Oops.
• I have an announcement coming to the blog this week that is sure to excite families and couples this Fall 😀 And that’s all I’ll say for now!
• Group naps on a Sunday? Totally the right way to handle the Sabbath.
