It has been two whole weeks since the craziest weekend ever. Every year Radford Cru does something wonderful called Fall Retreat. We pack up our bags and sleeping bags, throw everything in the car after MONTHS of preparation and prayer and drive up the gravel road to Camp Powhatan. My staff team anxiously awaits the moments that the students arrive and we embrace being away from the rest of the world. Fall Retreat is a time that we can refocus on Jesus with the students and challenge them to dive deeper into their relationship with God. The cool thing is: we plan and plan and plan for this for months, but when it gets down to it, God is the one who makes it all happen. He’s in control and we’re just along for the ride as the weekend comes to a start.
Camp Powhatan is a very special place to me because it is where I’ve made decisions that have changed my life forever. I look forward to going back there every year and this was no exception. So while these may not be the most high quality images, they are special to me. They represent the crazy group of students we’ve got right now and how much the Lord has done to get us to this point.
So here’s a little glimpse of Fall Retreat…
(this weekend was particularly crazy because David and I left on Saturday to shoot a wedding. as everyone shuffled in the morning meeting on Saturday in sweats, David and I were dressed up in wedding attire. it was heart breaking to be away from the retreat, but SO awesome to be able to celebrate my friend Meghan on her big day. i got to do all of my favorite things in one weekend and got back on saturday just in time for my favorite part of the retreat. :])
Registration is my favorite. The students show up all smiley and unsure of what they’ve gotten themselves into and I get to be one of the first people they meet!
My lovely coleader LeeAnn 😀
This has got to be one of the weirdest challenges I’ve ever seen.
But the crowd was loving it. Love these next two shots.
The girls team won 😀
Rich Perez came all the way from NYC to speak for us!
And the dance party: always. so. epic.
Photobooth time always means that I’ve got a LINE of people waiting to have their picture taken. Those girls on the left being super goofy: my favs.
And here’s my Junior small group. My favorite part of my job with Cru for sure.
Haley and Megan are two of the girls I mentor on a weekly basis. A definite bright spot in my week.
And this is where we reentered the picture. For the epic bonfire.
😀
Love my Brooke :]
Cleaning supplies and all, I love working with these women.
My favorite spot in the whole camp.
Our Freshmen.
Sophomores.
Juniors!
And seniors.
And of course. My staff team :] (most of them anyways)
As usual, could not have done it without my Jobin. Love that guy.
Students, don’t fret. Fall Retreat pictures going on Facebook TONIGHT!
