Yelloooooo Monday! You are as bright and beautiful as ever. But I’m dragging a little bit due to too much fun in one weekend.

Legitimately. The weird thing about being an introvert, is that seeing a full calendar in front of you literally makes your head spin. (hopefully i’m not the only one) But the flip side of that, is that once you get to wherever you’re supposed to be you have this moment of, “Oh yeah, I actually do like spending time with people, doing xyz, staying up all night, etc.” I had one of those weeks!

Amidst the usual craziness of ministry, I had a maternity session at one of my favorite places on Thursday evening, followed by spending time with another married couple from our church. Friday brought the Cru staff team to my house for some bonding, a women’s event for Cru all over Christiansburg, followed by 8 girls sleeping over at my house and staying up til 3:30AM. Saturday was waking up early and feasting over bacon and eggs and leading a women’s study at my house. (can i just say how much i love our new house?!) And then in the afternoon, an engagement shoot with good friends who are getting married SO SOON! Sunday was a women’s book club and once again, feasting over french and indian cuisine. (more on that later)

So that seems like the kinda thing that would exhaust you…and it is :] BUT all of it was so dang life giving that I’d do it all again this weekend. And of course, it helps if you can wrap it all up with a couple hours of lounging on the couch watching Netflix and playing Ticket to Ride with your husband. Now for the feels.

• The biggest baking fail/”nailed it” moment happened this weekend. My friends Krysta and Joy and I attempted to make Madeleines this weekend. Normally, I think we’d do fine. But due to poor planning in general, missing ingredients, and my bad luck we had something go wrong every step of the way. Bonus: they still tasted good. Not so bonus: Someone else brought Madeleines to our book club and they looked perfect, forcing us to put our ugly creation even more on display :]
• A clear fact about college women in our ministry: They LOVE Layla. Who’s Layla?? Oh yeah, our other dog that is not so cute so I don’t show her off like little Neville. But seriously, people love her. Two of the freshmen who stayed over on Friday night actually let her crawl under their covers and cuddled with her all night long. Like a little gremlin.
• Speaking of cute things, I finally gave Neville a proper haircut 😀 He almost looks normal.
• Don’t read The One Hundred Foot Journey. It’s lame. Our book club attempted it and the only one who made it through was listening to the audio book. Seriously, just don’t do it.
