It’s November! I know I’m stating the obvious, but cold weather is here to stay! (kinda, I mean it’s gonna be 70 in Radford, that’s what we get for living in a Valley!) Woo! I love the cold. Hot drinks and cozy weather? Bring it on.
It felt like it was the beginning of the holiday season this weekend! I mean Halloween happened, Starbucks premiered their red cups (which is always a good sign), we drove in a sleet storm, and Walmart is officially flush with Christmas decorations. It’s never too soon for celebrating friends.
The giveaway for Winter Minis ended on Friday! I’m so excited for the winner, but also wanted to give a little more :] SO here’s the official annoucement: Anyone who entered the giveaway will get 10 FREE PRINTS when they book a mini session! That’s right people! Sign up now!
My feels are a little lengthy today, so let’s get to ’em.
- Some of our Cru staff team went to see our coworker LeeAnn in the ballet performance of Dracula this weekend. She’s a fabulous dancer who I just so happen to lead a small group with. It was so cool to see her doing what she loves and is so gifted at. But I gotta say, there’s something pretty weird about seeing your friend get devoured and then possessed by a vampire on stage.
- Barnes and Noble’s is my happy place. I spent an hour and a half there yesterday and managed to find seven books I wanted to buy. So I stacked them all up, read a chapter of each of them and made my decision. I finally started the highly recommended series “The Uglies” last night and am loving it so far.
- Something about being dressed in costume bonds people together. David and I went to Chipotle dressed up for $3 Booritos (get it?!) and basically just watched the parade of people coming in. Everyone seemed a little bit friendlier because we all looked like awesome dorks together. I’m talking to you, girl in the hot dog costume, aka awesome.
- Speaking of costumes…I’ve spoken a lot about our dogs here…Neville and Layla are interesting creatures. They are even more interesting to the students in Cru. So interesting in fact that at the Halloween party, two girls from my small group came in DRESSED AS THEM! Seriously, down to the dejected facial expression always on Layla’s face, they nailed it. So ridiculous.
- Neville is a menace. We came home from church yesterday to find full seasons of DVDs of TV shows destroyed on the floor. Which then lead me to say a sentence I never thought I’d say…”At least it was just the OC.”
I gotta brag for a minute. I only paid $3 for the costumes below! And it was just for the white shirt under my Dorothy dress. I glitter painted my shoes, threw together David’s ensemble, and dang I think we killed it. Neville was ToTo of course.
