I remember the night that Joy first noticed Luke so well. It was our first Cru meeting of the year and we were shocked as 200 plus people piled into our little room, overwhelmed by the numbers. Joy and Krysta and I were squished in the back by the powerpoint, watching in awe as everyone sang how much our God loves us. And then Krysta and I spotted a man with a giant beard. He was totally into worship, so of course, we pointed him out to Joy. (because she’s obsessed with duck dynasty) Her eyes lit up and she goes “He’s SO cute!” Krysta and I laughed, both shocked and knowing that’d be her response.

The next couple months were full of undercover planning by both our director Jake and by Luke to get these two on a date together. After Luke found out Joy was single, he had it all planned out. And after a heated fantasy football bet, he got to take her for coffee. Finally. They sat for hours by the campus fountain and things just progressed from there. Now it’s about a year later and they’re getting married! Joy just lights up when she looks at Luke and Luke does the same. He softens in her presence.

Needless to say, I’m so excited for their December wedding! Enjoy their engagement session around the campus that they fell in love at.
