Whaaaaat ? Depth of feels on a Wednesday? That’s right. Because we’re four Christmases and two weddings into our craziness! I’m blogging today because Monday was David and I’s Christmas, and you don’t blog on Christmas! Right?
We’ve got a ton of different family all over the place so we always end up celebrating Christmas about 6 times. No exaggeration. The last week has been lots of time editing and marathoning Gilmore Girls while doing so. It also included shooting a wedding in downtown Lynchburg for the sweetest couple! Which means that our 2014 wedding season is over! I can’t believe it. I have so many thoughts on that area, the fact that we ended up shooting 12 weddings (EEK) when my goal was four. Seriously. More on that later this week.
The rest of the week has been rushed Christmas shopping, celebrations, and David and I’s Christmas. Which was full of books and nerdy gifts which I loved. Just as you all are, we’re still in the thick of Christmas over here! I’m excited to have this time for family and to point back to my Savior Jesus. Hope your Christmas eve is just fabulous!
Now for some feels:
- The wedding this past Saturday was wonderful for so many reasons, but nothing beats reading through the table tags (aka paper airplanes, seriously this wedding was awesome) and finding two of your best friends’ names on them! What a surprise! Instead of driving back to Radford right after the wedding, we spent close to three hours chatting over IHOP with our friends instead.
- Things that make me cry: Everything. Things that make me sob: Christmas shoes and I’ll Be Home For Christmas with military moms and dads sending Christmas love during the interludes. WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO US?
- Getting into bed at 2:30AM after a wedding results in hysteria. And if you think watching The Office will make you fall asleep, think again. I was gasping for air with laughter, unable to fall asleep and unable to calm down for about 20 minutes. Whew.
- I’m a super deep sleeper. But apparently, when alarms and gentle reminders from my husband that I’m going to be late and deadlines won’t wake me up….David saying “There’s a squirrel knocking on our window!” will wake me up like nobody’s business.
