I am FINALLY writing from my little office in Radford! Although there is still a ton of editing to be done and changes to be implemented after Creative at Heart, I’m going to call this a WIN! I feel like you guys are probably tired of hearing me say just how much has happened in our lives the last month, but I’ve got to count this as victory! Because we did it! 6 Christmases, 2 conferences, 3 weddings, and 2 portrait sessions in the span of a month. It was chaos. We traveled all of the state and packed the Prius as full as it could possibly get. Man, does it feel good to be home.

Being home this week means getting organized for the semester to start at Radford! David and I spent a couple hours yesterday cleaning and organizing the house and it almost felt good this morning to wake up on a Monday knowing it was a “work” day. (let’s be real, the last month has been all work days…but I prefer the Monday through Friday deal) And I say ALMOST because…I mean who really loves Monday mornings?

I’m excited that being home means settling back into our routine and shifting it around so we can pursue balance and a life lived fully this year! Sitting in your parents’ basement with your iMac facing the couch/your bed doesn’t really do that for you. Although we are super grateful for having that little cave for a couple weeks. Whew! What are you guys excited about for 2015?

Now for some feels:

• You know you’ve got clients who “get” you when you pull up to their session and they identify your dog by “OH MY GOSH YOU BROUGHT NEVILLE!” That’s another win in my book. See the cute-tastic image below. Neville was loving his life.
• I am just as entranced by snow as I was when I was a kid wishing school would be cancelled! I love the way it cancels things :] I think that’s fun that weather can just shut down your plans and force you to stay home inside!
• That being said, the illusion was slightly ruined when my Grandma said that God invented snow to carry all the germs from the atmosphere to the ground. Thanks Gram. I’ll go on sticking my tongue out and eating snow cream, thankyouverymuch.
• As referenced earlier, we stuffed our little car the fullest it has ever been this trip home. We left our other pup Layla at home for our travel marathon and were super glad we did…because we could not have fit her in the car on the way back!
• After not cooking for over three weeks…it felt really awesome to cook dinner in our kitchen last night. I didn’t know it was possible to be sick of Chipotle.

Mike and Adrianne met us in the 12 degree weather on Saturday for a few quick shots and loved on Mr. Neville. These two are keepers.
