This might not be the case where you are, but here in Southwest VA, we’ve got a real snow day on our hands! YAY! I’ve been wishing for this all winter and it has finally arrived. And on a MONDAY?! I can’t even think of anything better than a snow day that extends your weekend. Bring it onnnnnn! Normally Mondays are our crazy 14 hour days, so this is an excellent day for snow to cancel work! We’re spending time a little slower and as soon as I hit publish on this blog, we’re off to walk the pups in the snow!
Today just feels like a beautiful extension of a relaxing weekend. David and I aren’t huge Valentine’s people, but we do love any excuse to celebrate or do something out of the ordinary. It is also the anniversary of our first real out to dinner date in which David bought me a puppy stuffed animal with a heart ribbon collar and took me to Red Robin and yep…watched the NBA Slam Dunk Contest and fell asleep on the couch. I had a true picture of what life with him was going to look like :] 2009 David was just as sleepy as 2015 David, but thankfully, he’s laid off the NBA a little bit. Aka we don’t have cable.
This year, he took me to get my nails done and we spent a couple hours catching up on our Shondaland shows together before going out to dinner. And when I say OUR shows, I mean it. David is just as into How to Get Away with Murder and Grey’s Anatomy as I am! We spent Saturday being absolutely lazy and eating Belgium waffles and smoothies and then attending Cru’s Valentine’s dinner. It was such a blast hanging out with the students and dancing all night!
Before I go bask in the glorious snow, here’s some feels:
I’ll share more from Valentine’s this week!
And I just couldn’t not post this. Jude and Colette are so, so sweet.
My Jobin is awesome for many reasons. One of those being that he wore his florescent red pants on Valentine’s day to be festive! Love that guy.
