I’m coming out of a wonderful week right now. Mostly a wonderful weekend that moved super slowly in the best kind of way. If you’ve been following along for the last couple months you know that we’ve been….busy. Ugh that dreaded word. I hate it because it seems so much like an excuse! But it’s true. We’ve been just plain busy. Winter break is normally where we’d get a little rest for the craziness of balancing photography, campus ministry, and grad school. But this year it got kicked up a notch during that time! So we went into this semester feeling pretty unrested and trying to power through.

Sooooo thankfully David made it a priority for us to take a weekend away before our spring retreat started for Cru this Wednesday. And it was SO welcome. We were away from our computers and our house so our minds were free to be free really! We went out for some delicious meals, went to see a play, and spent a lot of time doing nothing. It was lovely. And even though it was a short three days, we’re left feeling energized and ready for another crazy week!

And we got to end the weekend by photographing something AMAZING! You’ll have to stay tuned for that one though :] Right now, I’m finishing up some stuff in the office because my BFF is on her way to Radford. She lives in Raleigh and also does campus ministry so our time together is RARE. I’m so excited for a couple days with her followed up by a Cru retreat. It’s going to be good times, friends.

Now for some feels:

• Literal quote from David this week: “I like will call…it makes me feel important.” Oh gosh, that one had me laughing for a long time. Here’s to feeling important Jobin!
• We took a little stop at Panera on the way home yesterday and saw the oddest thing. A guy came in, sat down next to the fireplace, and just stared at it…for like 10 uninterrupted minutes. David didn’t think it was that weird and insisted he was probably there to fix the fireplace. But on the other hand…I’m convinced he was there for some other sinister reason. People watching pairs well with my wild imagination.
• Weirdest thing at the hotel this weekend? A rubber duck accompanied by a piece of paper that said: “Take me my dear friend to remind you of where you’ve been in hopes you will soon return again.” Yep, that’s real life. And no we didn’t take it with us.
• I tried to explain the phenomenon of “man buns” to David this week. After trying and failing, I told him to google it. To which he pointed out that googling man buns might come up with some results he doesn’t want to see. Fair point.
• I think I’m one of the maybe 50 people left on this planet watching Glee…counting the cast. I can admit that the show is pretty much trash now, but my loyalty remains! And how can I not be proud of my boy Darren Criss for being the first cast member to write a song for the show?! Don’t know who he is? Google him :]
