I still feel like I’m reeling from last week’s Creative at Heart and chocked full weekend of friends and family. My heart is so full and summer is in fast pursuit! It’s coming for us friends! Especially for those of us who are in little college towns. In about a month, all of the students will have vacated the town and there will be four months of different. I clearly felt how quickly it was coming and I asked David if he felt that way too…to which he responded that he had so much work to do and DEFINITELY felt how close it was. Ahhh, it’s nice not to be a student any more :]

Friends, I hope that you too are coming out of a lovely and relaxing weekend of celebrating with friends and family! Our BFFs were in town with their babies all week, so we got a lot of QT aka quality time with them, but as it goes with best friends, it never feels like enough. We’re already anxiously awaiting the next time we get to all be together! My dad also unexpectedly popped down to Redford for Easter, so we got to spend time with him as well! And of course, a bunch of time with our church family since it was Easter. I love that! All of the favorite people and things in one place. As much as I don’t ever want to wish time away, I am excited for the pace of this summer! It’ll be the exciting change of my wedding season starting up, traveling all around the state to shoot in pretty venues, and time spent on a porch somewhere in deep conversation with friends. Truly, all my favorites. And then if you add a chance to celebrate my King Jesus? Yes, perfection.

Now for some feels, friends. Aka my other favorites:

• Confession of being a small business owner – I wear pajama pants far too often. Because I work from home. Today I got up, showered, and put pajama pants on. I actually tend to do this no matter what the day holds…so maybe it’s more like confessions of a Kaitlyn.
• Combine that with working on a college campus and you’ve got the fact that I essentially never have to wear real clothes. Leggings and oversized shirts blend me right in and make me super comfortable, always.
• I started and finished “If You Find This Letter” by Hannah Brencher in the last week and a half. And if it had not been for such a busy schedule…I probably would’ve devoured it in a single day. It’s that good, people. Do yourself a favor and zoom over to Barnes and Noble or Amazon and pick that up right now. It’s the kind of book that will lift you up, let you ugly cry, and leave you remembering your place in this big world. She’s a genius with her words.
• Number one thing that will lift my spirits and encourage my heart? A sweet email or note from a client or friend. Kind words have this power to make me brave and keep me pushing on. They stick with me in a way that other things don’t.
• I do not like basketball. And David LOVES it. We spent Saturday evening with people at our house, watching the games. And for me that meant making appetizers and watching everyones’ reactions to the games. The only part I purposely saw was Wisconsin winning and the star player winning on HIS BIRTHDAY! Which, of course, made me cry.

This round of Creative at Heart worked in headshots for all of the attendees! So sweet! One of the highlights of my Friday was scrolling through all of the gorgeous ladies and feeling so lucky I’ve had a chance to meet them all! Thanks Amanda Hedgepath for some new headshots :]
