Whew! This depth of feels is coming to you a little late this afternoon due to the fact that the internet is being wonky. That’s a pretty solid word, right?! Wonky. Anyways, I’ve been waiting for the internet to perk back up so that I could sign in and write this blog post :]
This weekend was one of those crazy ones! Pretty much every moment was filled with something. All good things of course. (Also am I the only one who thinks of Olaf from frozen when I hear the phrase “all good things”? Please say I’m not!) This weekend was our student leader retreat for Cru! Every year we have a time of prayer and celebration and worship for the new school year and that happened this weekend. We get to see all of the the students get excited about loving on the campus together and bond with each other. It’s such a special time and always so encouraging to see the sacrifices they are willing to make amidst a busy college schedule. They just really care about reaching the campus and it is really beautiful. Our BFFs Mark and Maddy were also in town so we fit in some time with them when we could; I cannot wait until they live here again! You know those people in your life, you just always feel like “you” around? They’re some of those people for us and having them back in Radford is going to be awesome!
My friend and I also threw a bridal shower for our dear Haley who’s getting married this summer. It included lots of yummy sweets and pretty things and fun people. There was also the added advantage that everyone was in college so wasn’t super experienced in attending bridal showers :] So everything was new and fun and not cliche :] We love our Haley and it was exciting to be able to make her feel loved during such a special season of life. Also throwing together all the cute details was really fun too. It’s time for wedding season to get here, people!
Feels time:
- I definitely specialize in weddings, but I won’t say no to a good senior session every once in a while, especially for women that are so close to me! I got to shoot two of my favorite soon to be college grads last week and it was so fun! It’s also crazy that they are seniors when I feel like I met them as freshman like…yesterday.
- Cutting baby’s breath and sliding it into mason jars was almost too much for me. It gave me a whole new respect for floral designers. The whole time I was compiling (you know, like 15 minutes) I was thinking that this shouldn’t be as hard as it is…but alas. Leave your florals to the professionals people!
- I’m hooked on Gilmore Girls again…eek! It’s season three and the Jess/Rory drama is getting good and it is the perfect background noise to edit to :]
- Also seeing Adam Brody guest star is always a bonus.
- I’ve got an announcement to make on the blog this week so STAY TUNED 😀
I love finding new spots to shoot in. Emily and I spent a good amount of time in this little ivy patch on campus :]
