Before I start, I must offer a disclaimer. When I posted on Monday that I had a special announcement, I did NOT mean that we were expecting :] Shortly after I published the depth of feels, David texted me and politely informed me that we are not in the stage of life to be proclaiming “EXCITING NEWS” without people assuming that our family is growing. So I’m sorry if I faked any one out! But hey, maybe it got you here to hear my non baby related EXCITING NEWS 😀
If you’ve been coming around the blog lately, you’ve heard me rave and rave about Creative at Heart. Beyond inspiring and serving and getting you all around amped up about your business and your clients, this conference helps you set big goals and dream big. After an emotional and exciting two days at the January conference, we were asked to write down three goals and then to break them down into attainable steps. And for me the big goal was BRANDING!
I’ve told a little bit of the story of my business here on the blog in the last few months (and I hope to tell much more!) and the biggest piece of it, is that this business just evolved! It wasn’t a long term plan or a dream I’d been harboring since childhood. It’s something that just developed year after year and suddenly it was something that I couldn’t imagine not doing! So that means that I’ve been learning a lot of things and investing in this business as it goes. And that means that my branding has been minimal at best. Branding is SO much more than just the tangible website, logo, graphics, etc. It’s the heart behind your business and the experience and your values. And I have all of this in my head, but none of it has translated to what you all see through the blog and many other places.
SO that is my big announcement. After hearing Bonnie speak at Creative at Heart in January, I knew she was the perfect fit for me. She’s got such heart behind what she does and is such a sweet presence in the creative community. I couldn’t be more excited to be doing a full branding overhaul with her and am SO excited to see how she translates my heart for story telling into tangible, visual goodness. Bonnie is challenging me to think about the type of legacy I want my business to leave, my dream clients, and to think about what sets me apart as a photographer.
To sum up, I am ecstatic to be working with Bonnie, and to be refining the heart behind this business. And I’m SO thrilled and anxious to see how this will push my business forward and serves my clients better. After all that is the point! I want to love on my clients well at an important season of their lives and I can’t wait to see that represented visually.
You’ll be seeing a lot more about my branding journey in the next month or so before the official launch! Again, I’m just over the moon about Bonnie! So much so that I asked her to take this iPhone pic with me at C@H round 2 in Roanoke because I love her so dang much.
Isn’t she the cutest?!
