I’m biased probably. But I had just the best weekend. Well more like the best Sunday. But regardless, it’s been a really good one, friends.
As you all probably know from the fact it’s been in depth of feels for like three weeks now…school is over! Our students are finishing up finals right now and David just finished his second to last paper. One more to go and it is OVER. He’s getting a little crazy at this point, but by tomorrow afternoon, I’m going to have my husband back and hopefully he will, once again, be sane. No promises though. Finals week means a very, very different schedule for us and last week was different too. I got to do fun things with all of the girls I meet with and have a front porch bonfire with my small group girls. It was amazing.
And getting to the good stuff…Sunday was amazing! After having a heart full of regrets for watching Gilmore Girls for like 7 straight hours on Saturday, I got to have a Sunday that made up for it. (don’t get me wrong, gilmore girls is great, but you eventually get to the point where you wonder why you didn’t do anything productive all evening) Sunday was our goodbye picnic for Cru and it last the longest it ever had. It was perfect spring weather outside and we stayed at the Park for almost 5 hours just laughing and playing and eating and celebrating life together. This is always one of my favorite days of ministry because everyone is just so excited and having fun together. And this year it was even more perfect because we had 10 students decide to be baptized in the New River. It was such an emotional experience. I went from laughing to crying to rejoicing as 10 of the brothers and sisters in our little community proclaimed Jesus by getting baptized. And how cool that we got to do it in the river, all together! Such a unique moment and of COURSE I waded out into the river to take pictures so you’ll see more soon :] Ahhhh and to top off a great day, it ended with watching Friends with friends. Good stuff that makes a Monday morning really tough.
Now for feels:
Here are my BEAUTIFUL small group girls. And yes, Sarah and I are doing the nuzzle. Because one of my girls constantly make fun of me for it.
And my dear Aya coming out of the water in new life. Life with her is such a blessing!
