Happy Monday! Except for us, today feels a little more like a Tuesday, because yesterday was a work day. Let me explain.
This week marks the official beginning of the busy season. Remember what I said last week, it’s seasons changing time! We’re moving into full wedding photographer mode, and it’s about time! Thankfully, and quite accidentally, we’re spending the week leading up to our first wedding of the season….relaxing. Which is such good timing. What better way to transition, than spending a week having fun?! From Friday to Sunday we hung out in Abingdon with our Cru staff team. This was basically just eating a ton of really good food and sleeping a lot, and hanging out by the beautiful pond and exploring downtown Abingdon. So gorgeous!
This afternoon, we’re headed up to Northern Virginia to go away a couple days with my family. So that means yesterday afternoon and today are chocked full of work :] But if that means that we get to take a couple days off before it all starts up, then I say it’s definitely worth it! I’m SO excited for wedding season, but also so thankful we’ve got this week in between to prepare!
Now for feels:
- I spent last Tuesday at the first Tuesdays Together in Stanton! It was so fun to road trip with AshBush and Hillary Gaskins up to Stanton and then to both connect with old vendor friends and meet new ones! I’m so thrilled for this movement toward community in the wedding industry and loved being a dinner table full of people for just “get” what I do. :]
- This is how you manipulate an ice cream shop: you roll up to their drive-thru…the exact minute that they close…and then when they tell you that they’re closed…you look really said and say “BUT WE KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT.” And then out of sheer confusion, they serve you. And yes, this is how David got us ice cream late Saturday night.
- Last night David and I ate take out and watched Big Hero 6. Surprisingly sad and also surprisingly good.
- Something else we learned…we are not antique-ers. We went exploring in Abingdon and went in a couple antique shops…and quickly got bored. I don’t know if it was the high price tags or that fact that we had just eaten lunch (aka sleepy), but man we were not impressed.
- I love traveling around, but I hate leaving Neville. It’s so sad and I feel like he can sense it and walks around all puppy sad when he knows were leaving again.
That’s all for now friends! Look out for some fun blog posts this week :]
