“Is it May 23rd yet?” Clearly, this had become a mantra for them. A question that they asked back and forth, counting the days down, and getting even more excited for life together. And finally, back to back, trying their hardest not to peek at each other before the ceremony, they’re answer to that question was “YES.” It was finally May 23rd, and it was just as lovely as anticipated.
Adam and Lauren’s story is one of adventure and of taking chances. Lauren moved out to Illinois unsure of what the Lord was going to do in her life there, but faithfully responded anyways. And Adam, took a chance and asked her out, only to be met with a no. So he waited, patiently, until he could ask her again and receive the sweet “yes” he’d been hoping for. Friends and family described how Adam and Lauren had been the greatest instruments of transformation in each other’s lives. Lauren’s maid of honor shared how Lauren had changed from an unsure girl to a confident woman who trusted in God’s faithfulness because of Adam’s example in her life. Adam quietly thanked God for His faithfulness and for his lovely bride, and exclaimed how after all of this waiting, he was just so excited to see her. And, in a tearful toast, Lauren’s dad shared that Jesus is number one for Lauren and Adam, and it is a sweet delight to each of their ears to be each other’s number two.
The day passed with perfect clarity. Everyone talks about wedding days being a blur, but it wasn’t blurry for them, they were taking it all in, present in every moment. They seemed like the most treasured friend in every guest’s life. And as they drove off into the night, the stars twinkled and the guests laughed in celebration. The day was joy filled. All because Adam, normally the voice of reason, threw caution to the wind and asked Lauren out. And Lauren, normally a list girl, put down her list and trusted in God’s providence in Adam.
Such a relaxed morning getting ready. Laughing women and make up spread everywhere.
Lauren’s dress…to die for.
As much as I love first looks, this moment, of reading each other’s kind words and praying around a corner was too sweet for words.
That same excited face :]
Finally facing each other :]
When your best man purposely hands you a hulk ring instead of her wedding band.
The happiest bridal party!
Finally portrait time. And they rocked it out!
Favorite :]
Because Lauren always dreamed of SMASHING the cake in her husband’s face.
Hard not to ugly cry through this proud father’s toast.
Leave some love for the new Mr and Mrs Purvis.
