We are home for a whole month starting today! Oh my goodness, that feels so good to say! No road trips or packing up all of our things until mid August, and we are thankful for that.
This week brought a lot of time sitting in front of the computer, editing away. I will say, it makes it much easier to sit through the long editing sessions when I’m editing through pretty couples and their happy celebrations. Also…binge watching Grey’s Anatomy. That helps too. And a puppy who walks into the office every half hour or so to check and see if we want to cuddle him.
Traveling does have it’s advantages. We got to spend Friday evening with my mom and stepdad and grandma, eating yummy spaghetti squash, and we got to have lunch with my dad on Sunday. Follow that up with a stop by friends so close their family on the drive home, and it makes all the driving worth it! Especially when that stop involves sitting by the pool and eating chips and guac on the porch.
Now for some quote-y feels.
- If you want a good laugh today and Nick Miller from New Girl makes your heart happy, look no farther than this list of grumpy quotes.
- I had the biggest fail this weekend. For months, I’d marked this weekend as a Northern Virginia wedding. I was sure of it. After driving up to Fairfax on Friday, I put the venue address for the next day into my phone and low and behold…the wedding was in Luray. A full hour and a half from where we were staying, back in the direction of Radford. Thankfully, my husband is very forgiving and didn’t get too frustrated with the extra drive time :]
- Speaking of David, “Shake it Off” came on this weekend in the car, and we started bopping along, of course. And I said to David, “Remember when you HATED Taylor Swift?” And he responded, “She’s grown on me. She’s ballsy. I like it.” My husband, ladies and gentlemen.
- Another quote that will make you laugh if you’re an avid run avoider like me? “Jogging is the worst. I mean I know it keeps you healthy, but at what cost?!” And there’s the only time I ever agreed with Ann Perkins.
- I got my family so hooked on Ticket to Ride that my mom bought a set so that we could always play at home! It’s a fun game in general, but when you add in my grandma’s trouble remembering the the rules, it becomes hilarious.
Anders and Emily’s wedding this weekend was amazing! Khimaira Fams is the sweetest little hidden gem! Can’t get enough of that ivy :]
