Goodness gracious, it has been a LONG time since you’ve only seen one post in between two depth of feels! I guess that’s what an internet lapse does to your work flow!

This last week felt so, so LONG mostly because the glorious-ness of cow appreciation day feels like forever ago. Just in case you don’t know…I’m obsessed with cows. It’s an extremely long story, but basically a cow came along and cheered me up in my time of need. Gosh, there’s no way to make it not sound weird. Anyways, since then, I’ve loved cows. To the point that people are always gifting my cow items and finding cow things at thrift stores and yard sales and sending them my way. And it’s awesome! The first summer we were married, my mom clued us into cow appreciation day at Chick-fil-A and we jetted over in our homemade cow outfits just in time for some free food. This was our FOURTH year dressing up as cows and celebrating with free chicken at Chick-fil-A. It’s the best. It’s a great excuse to dress up, receive a whole free meal, and laugh at everyone who walks in not dressed as a cow. Which is backwards logic for any OTHER day of the year. Thankful David let me add cow spots to our faces this year 😀

Anyways, a mere few hours after cow day celebrations ended, I headed to Tuesdays Together in Roanoke with a new photog friend and enjoyed being around other creatives for the evening. And Wednesday I spent the whole day in the office both working and preparing to give a short talk at our summer Cru meeting. I have no idea what it is, but I’m starting to love speaking and it gets me excited in a weird nervous jittery way. After summer Cru, all of the students came over to our house so we could play mafia until midnight. Sometimes we still live on college student schedule and I’m not complaining.

Ahhh and then the trouble started. We switched internet providers and it was a hassle. Not having wifi until yesterday led to super low productivity the rest of the work week, but it did make for a relaxing weekend with David’s mom. We watched some movies, ate good food, and got pedicures :] (not David, unfortunately ;])

All that to say, it was a long  week! And I may have lied last week when I said that we weren’t going out of town for a whole month…due to some scheduling mishaps…we might be headed to the beach for the week TOMORROW! EEK! We’re working really hard and trying to make it happen, because it’s the only time we can take a break for the summer. SO fingers crossed :] Now for some long overdue feels:

• The highlight of cow appreciation day was definitely the fact that I “cheers-ed” David’s ice cream cone in the car causing my entire cone to plop right in his hands. I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard! Ice cream splattered all over the car while David frantically tried to the get the ice cream back on my cone…and I was absolutely no help because of laughing so hard.
• Car rides are the best time to get to know someone. I know I’ve said this before, but it’s just the truth! I spent the drive to and from Roanoke with a new photog friend and things get deep when you’re driving a semi long distance together!
• I finally saw Guardians of the Galaxy. FINALLY! Oh my gosh it was so fun to watch! If you were living under a rock like me, then get out from it STAT and redbox Chris Pratt in all his glory.
• Living your life without wifi and without data (because you ran over using your phone as a hot spot to get work done) is super revealing. I’m thankful to be living life with internet again…but it did make me think about just how much time I spent relying on some type of internet.
• I know I said that I’m starting to love speaking…but that doesn’t mean that even in a small room of people I start nervous sweating and getting jumpy. I know that’s more than you needed to know, it’s just the truth.
