Somehow we keep coming across these couples with these amazing stories of long distance love. In a way that we cannot relate to at all, they’ve navigated the waters of skyping back and forth, long phone calls, and long road trips back and forth towards each other. It’s incredible! And George and Carolyn’s story goes just like that.

They met during their years in the ROTC program at Radford, Carolyn balancing her nursing major all the while, and came together after some unsure interactions. But once it was right, it was right, and they’ve been constants in each other’s lives ever since. Upon Carolyn’s graduation, the distance started. So what used to be a love story rooted in a college town, turned into a relationship several hours driving distance a part. But they made it work, because the sweet connection they shared was ultimately worth it.

And when George popped the question one quiet evening during a visit to Carolyn’s, the obvious and excited answer was yes. And now they’ve got a date to look forward to, an end to the distance, and an end to living life without the other by their side. After spending time with George and Carolyn, it’s easy to see that they’re better together. George cracks jokes and laughs quickly, and Carolyn smiles along easily.
