Happy Monday/Tuesday friends! Labor day always throws me off, because it seems the whole world is off relaxing, and I inevitably end up needing to do some type of work for one of my jobs. Good thing I love my jobs right? 😉 While the rest of the world was beachside or poolside, I spent the afternoon getting crafty with some client gifts. So really, it felt a little bit like time off 🙂
SO much has been crammed into the last 8 days since my last depth of feels! And almost none of it is photography related…and that’s SO crazy to me! A good crazy, of course. I cannot say how thankful I am for having scheduled well, knowing that I’d need a few weeks to breathe after a summer full of big projects and lots of weddings! This last week was all about new students coming in to Radford! We typically spend this first week just up to our eyeballs in tasks and equipping student leaders to get students connected. And this year was no different! But it might’ve been a little bit more fun :] We have the same staff team as last year with no turnover…so it feels like a well oiled machine instead of starting from scratch.
If you know me at all, you know that I love college students. A lot! So I was walking on clouds all week! Every evening was a different opportunity to connect with people and I just loved it! But it was also exhausting, I am an introvert after all :] So this weekend was all about rejuvenating! Lots of time reading on the couch, napping, and eating good food surrounded by friends. It was just plain good. Now for feels:
- I wrote a post last week on what it’s like to balance two jobs that you love and I was just shocked at how many people could relate to me. If you’re in a similar boat, check it out here.
- David and I attempted to have a brunch date yesterday, our own little luxury vacay. But alas, VT was hosting a football game and every breakfast place was packed….so we went to Olive Garden. Because there’s nothing better. This gave me a strong love/hate relationship with VT football. Aka I don’t care…unless it gets me Olive Garden.
- Ben Rector has a new sampler album and it is 100% worth listening to.
- I was drafting a blog post on tragedy and then my friend Holly wrote this masterpiece and I realized that all she had said were exactly my thoughts on grief and tragedy at such a young age. So I’ll let her do the talking for me from now on.
- The plot twists in Harry Potter STILL have me pumped to this day. I just finished Goblet of Fire for the bajillioneth time and JK Rowling just knows how to surprise you!
Last night was our first senior girls small group of the semester so we did what we do best: craft and gab. And everyone tried to make their own pinterest creations. Below is one of my favorite pinterest quotes!
