This week was SO incredibly FULL! And I’ve got the sneak peeks to prove it :] I was running to and fro, from campus to home, Roanoke to Christiansburg, and finally to Northern VA for a wedding….in which we got back from the craziest week and into our home promptly at 11PM. It wasn’t the most relaxing weekend, and we had to choose thankfulness over stress often, but it was good.
The week started with a super full Monday (our Mondays are always crazy days) and we followed it up by hosting the Rising Tide’s Tuesdays Together at our house. And it just made me so thankful for our little home and all of the creatives willing to come out our way! It was so nice to gather in a cozy atmosphere and I loved being able to welcome everyone in! So, so fun and I feel like meeting in peoples’ homes adds a “real life” quality to meeting together. I think meeting (for anything really) inside homes breaks down barriers and allows familiarity so much faster! So, needless to say, we loved it.
Wednesday was another crazy day! I prepared for my Cru talk all morning and then got to spend 2.5 hours filming students’ stories. It’s always one of my favorite days of the year, and I always leave feeling immensely privileged to call my job a “job.” Having students trust you enough where they would let you help tell their story? That’s just amazing. I followed it up by heading to Roanoke for a long overdue engagement shoot with Kelly and Oliver! It was a blast and I loved running around downtown Roanoke with them and getting to know them better.
And then it was Thursday…Cru talk day! I spent my day running through and refining my talk and generally not trying to vomit. :] It went so well though! I blogged a little about it on Friday, so if you want the recap…go there! Friday was our classic travel day. After spending “so much time” in town during the second half of August and September, we’re back to our norm…which means that Fridays are for packing up the car, getting the house settled, and driving to wherever our wedding is that weekend. This weekend, meant Northern VA for a lovely fall wedding! It was gorgeous light the whole way through and I can’t wait to share more!
We spent Sunday with my family (the very bright side of all the traveling, for sure!) and I spent time with my mom “pre-registering” for baby things! Aka we walked around stores and pointed out things I liked so that I’d be a little less overwhelmed when the time came to register :] And we finished it all up with an anniversary session in Middleburg on our way back home! The shoot was with old friends, who just so happened to have gotten married to each other, and it was golden light and pretty leaves galore!
Now for some feels:
