Happy Monday! For the first time in a long time, I actually know that it’s Monday :] I don’t know about you guys, but the holidays mean I’m constantly asking what day it is. And now that we’re back in our actual house, and got to go to church yesterday, it feels a lot more like Monday. In a good way :] I hope you’re feeling that beginning of the year motivation just like I am, friends!

This last week has been all about baby. Seriously, it’s probably about time. We’re doing all this preparation that I think most people leisurely complete over the course of 9 months. But alas, I’m almost one month from go time and we’re making it all happen. Better late than never? :] We have spent countless hours at Target and Babies R Us and a little too long at Ikea trying to figure it all out. Thank goodness for my mom coming along with us, because I think David and I might’ve just given up to go out for ice cream. Now that we’re home, we’re spending this whole week before the semester starts cleaning out our house (yep, all of it), and making progress on Ollie’s nursery. In a way, it’s nice that this falls at the beginning of the year because it feels like the January thing to do. In another, it’s not because cleaning is never fun no matter what time of year it is.

I’m slowly getting back into that normal work schedule, so expect a lot on the blog in the coming weeks! There’s some backlogged personal shoots and lots of year end aka now it’s year beginning reviews coming :] Starting with tomorrow, the behind the scenes of wedding season 2015! Where, just like the images below, you can find me petting a goat(?) and David holding lots of pretty florals.

• I’m reading Jen Hatmaker’s “For the Love” at the request of my friend Holly. Finally. And it’s hilarious. Especially her entire chapter on LAP and TAP. Aka Leggings as Pants, and Tights as Pants. Which is a tragedy that we’re all guilty of.
• I’m the kind of person who needs a reason to start over. And January 1st is one of them! There are quite a few new systems I’ve been wanting to work into my business, and for the sake of consistency, I pledged to stay the same until January 1. (makes no sense) And here I am, a bit into January and making those changes! Yay for efficiency!
• Just like when we got married, I’ve once again become an expert in strategic returns and gift cards. It’s an art form.
• Craigslist is a heartbreaker. Just when I think I’ve found the perfect gently used nursery glider…I get an email back saying, “Already sold.” Womp. This has happened too many times to be optimistic.
• David and I BOTH attended Justin and Mary’s The Event last week. If you missed the recap on the blog…fix that ASAP!
• We had our pictures taken by Abby Grace last week and it was the best! It was freezing and windy and quite possibly the coldest day of the year, but there’s no one I’d rather laugh through the painful chill with!
• Did I mention we’re back in our little home?!?!?! It’s the best.
