Oh friends, today’s a good day on the blog. I’m so thankful to have been there to see this relationship unfold. And I will say, some of the initial flirting started over an Instagram…of Neville. That’s right. He’s a match maker. After a few weeks of back and forth between them, Jaelyn walked out of her meeting on campus and just “happened” to run into Jonathan as he strategically waited for an opportunity to ask her out. This was his moment. After a short exchange where Jonathan got to ask her on a date, Jaelyn walked away furiously dialing a number on her phone. She whisper freaked out over the phone to our friend Krysta all the way to her dorm that evening. There were so many amazing, hilarious moments like this leading up to Jonathan and Jaelyn’s actual relationship starting, but as good as those moments are nothing is worth sharing like their love for Jesus and each other.
Jonathan & Jaelyn are two people that you can’t help but love. So much so that when I found out they were starting to date two years ago, I was internally cheering at the top of my lungs. Okay…looking back, there’s a good chance some of that was external. They love the Lord so well. And that comes out in everything that they do. And the fact that they chose each other and have fought for that love in their dating relationship, makes it all the better. He is clearly the center of their lives. It shows in the way they laugh easily together. In the way that they exude joy. In the way they love others. And especially in the way that neither of them can believe how lucky they got in finding the other. They are both constantly overjoyed and surprised at the fact that they get to love each other. And that the other loves them. It’s truly the best part about them.
Their engagement shoot was so fun. We laughed a ton, and Jonathan told Jaelyn how gorgeous she was just shy of a million times. From the awkward, adorable beginnings, to the messy middle, to the beautiful proposal, and now to their August wedding…I’m just thankful to have gotten to share life with these two, and am so excited to see their new beginning as husband and wife. We love you guys!
