You know it’s been a good week when you have lots to report :] Actually, you also know it’s been a good week when there’s nothing to report. This week it’s the former!

We spent this last week all over the place! It started in Abingdon, VA for our Cru staff retreat. Every year we take a little time at the end of the year to just be together. College ministry is a really awesome job, but it can be very tiring and even emotional. We are dealing with people after all! So the retreat could not be more welcome. Some of the new staff for next year even came along! We spent time doing a lot of ice cream eating, laughing, and lounging by the side of a pond. It was wonderful!

Shortly after we got back, my Dad arrived in town. If you’ve gleaned anything about my Dad in the past few years on the blog, it’s that he’s predictably unpredictable. He’s always showing up with his latest thrift store find and is up for adventuring. This week that just meant doing some quality eating out, and going to all the Goodwills. In which he bought a lava lamp. Also, we introduced him to Pitch Perfect, so it was a win.

Right after my dad left, our good friend Daniel and Christy and their baby boy Jude got into town! Again we ate food out, adventured around Christiansburg with our 3 month old and their almost 2 year old in tow, and even managed to sneak in some time without the kids playing cards :]

All in all, our first week back without school was full to the brim so this week is all about getting ready for the summer season. And sleeping in a little late for a Monday 😀

FEELS!

• Today, Ollie is three months old! So, so crazy. He awarded us for making it through this far by sleeping in until 9:30 and then going back down for an incredibly long nap. Thanks buddy! But we kinda miss hanging out with you 😉
• One of my friends in college was from the little town of Abingdon. As some elaborate, long term joke I decided to pretend her town was fake. And eight years later, I’ve stayed there on retreat or mini vacation three times. So I’ve got to finally admit, Abingdon is real.
• You know you’ve got quality friends when the background noise for your card game is just you pulling up continual youtube videos from The Voice. And they don’t only tolerate it, they love it.
• Now that David’s out of school, I’ve got my personal chef back :] He keeps me fed during wedding season! Today we had smoothies #besthusbandever
• 1AM, my old friend, I got to see you again this week. After putting Ollie to bed on Tuesday night, I came out into the lobby on the last night of our retreat to my teammates saying “ICE CREAM, NOW!” I didn’t venture out to get ice cream (because I was in my pajamas, duh), but we did stay up crazy late playing Ticket to Ride. That’s a win for this night owl/board game lover.
• I’ve been waiting on a specific baby outfit from Old Navy to go on sale for MONTHS! Like maybe two haha. And this weekend, it finally happened. See results below!
