Happy Monday, friends! Now that it’s summer, Monday’s do feel a lot happier! Especially Monday’s after a wedding weekend, because it means I get to wake up and sort through all the pretty from the wedding day! So that’s what I’ve been spending my morning doing :]
This week I’ve been doing a lot of workflow refining and it’s been both good and hard. Nothing reveals how often you can become distracted like timing yourself while editing. Phew. But hopefully, this will mean less time spent editing, and more time loving on people :] And David is taking over some tasks for me and sent out some client gifts without my help. Proud feels and saving time feels. Love that. We celebrated David’s birthday this week as well with a movie and fun lunch! Our dates look a lot different than they used to, and far less frequent. But I think that means we treasure them even more. Annnnnd we certainly don’t mind exploring with Ollie in tow. Thankfully, he doesn’t seem to mind either.
We wrapped up the week with Oliver and Kelly’s wedding and friends, just you wait for this one. It was at the gorgeous Tresca on 8th in Lynchburg and the Surprenants are the just the sweetest people. (with a seriously gorgeous bridal party)
Now for some Monday feels:
- It’s only been 6 days since I listened to the Hamilton cast recording…and I’m fully obsessed. I’ve been watching interviews, looking up all the things, and was cheering last night as they swept the Tony’s. SO dang good.
- It’s so hard to know how to respond to tragedy. Especially as it seems to happen more and more often. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t. And it certainly doesn’t mean we should just grow a thicker skin. Lin Manuel Miranda’s speech last night captures so many of my thoughts.
- Ollie’s so interactive these days. He’s got toys, a playmat, seats on seats to sit in, and still…his favorite thing to do is pull on my hair.
- I’ve mentioned this before, but David and I just re got into listening to the Hank and John podcast. It’s by the Vlogbrothers and it’s so fun to listen to. Not to mention, it kept us awake on the way home from our wedding the other evening. So shout out to Hank and John!!
- One year ago, I proclaimed proudly on the blog that David’s Doctor Who tipping point was near. And it’s been a whole year. And I’m still not sure he’s reached the tipping point #disappointed
- We went into Target on Friday searching for command strips. We left with a new rug. Target, you win again. And also, thank you for severely discounting your rugs for the day so we could feel very adult with our purchase.
- Guys, it’s been one year since we found out we were expecting Oliver! Eek! How did time go so quickly. I can still remember that moment (and complete freakout because how could we possibly be parents?) with such clarity!
Two previews this week because Dakota was the sweetest little flower girl!
